An Analysis of the Energy Availability of a Batch Processing Heating Furnace

The present analysis is here presented in three parts . In the first part isgiven a calculation of the total exergy loss of the combustion process . The second part of this analysis deals with the exergy loss resulting from the irreversibility of the combustion process as predicted by the second law of thermodynamics . The last part of the paper suggests on general measures to be taken aimed at saving of energy for the furnace .
