A STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS METHOD FOR CONSTRAINED HANDPRINTED CHINESE CHARACTERS RECOGNITION

A structural recognition method for constrained handprinted Chinese characters is proposed in this paper. On the basis of an analysis of the stroke composition and the mutual relationship between strokes, a string code is used to describe the structural features of Chinese characters. By backtracking, some misext ract ion of strokes can be corrected automatically. In the experiments involving 500 frequently used Chinese character categories, satisfactory results have been achieved.
