THE USE AND MEASUREMENT OF DIRECTIONAL REFLECTANCE CHARACTERISTICS IN REMOTE SENSING
Reveals the importance of differentiating bidirectional reflectance factor ( BRF ) from hemispherical reflectance factor and shows the errors caused by the confusion.A simple and accurate method to calibrate the BRF of a reference panel in laboratory is recommended. BRF measurement in the field and error analyses are discussed in detail.
