A Prediction-Approaching Method for the Calibration of Color Printers

摘要: 提出的预测查找方法试图利用较小规模的测试数据表获得较高的转换精度.该方法根据实际测量数据建立RGB(设备颜色空间)和L*a*b*(标准颜色空间)之间的近似转换模型,并建立一个按特定规律排列的RGB→L*a*b*表,用给定的L*a*b*查出一组近似的RGB值并计算相应的色差,进而利用模型的预测对RGB值进行修正,如此以逐步逼近的方式使色差小于一个预定的阈值.实验结果表明,由于这种逼近在模型预测指导下进行,多数情况下经过2~3次迭代即可达到色差小于2~3个CIELAB色差单位.Abstract: The prediction approaching method proposed in the paper can attain higher accuracy in conversion on using a table of a smaller scale. An approximate conversion model between RGB and L *a *b *, and a RGB→L *a *b * table with a special structure are first set up, based on a set of measured data. Then a set of approximate RGB values are found from the table using the given L *a *b * as entries. The corresponding color difference is calculated, and is in turn used by the model to predict how the RGB values should be modified. This process is repeated until the color difference is less than a predetermined threshold value. Experiments have shown that in most cases the final RGB values capable of producing a color difference of 2~3 CIELAB units can be obtained with only 2~3 modifications.
