Abstract: The selection of time window lengths in compression algorithm for Doppler signals based on STFT is studied. The compression algorithm with varying window length in light of the local stationarity of the Doppler signal and the compression ratio is proposed. In the meantime, the simplified algorithm - the two-window compression algorithm is derived from it. Simulations showed that the new method can reduce the errors existing in methods based on STFT with constant window lengths.
