Abstract: By analyzing and comparing many kinds of relevant approaches the solution of Servlet and JDBC is addopted as the technical scheme for the design and implementation of a Web database interfacing system. By analyzing and classifying a large amount of Web applications, the corresponding interface are designed. An interfacing system, WDIS, is realized to access the Web database and can be shared among applications. This enables developers to implement complex Web database access by focusing merely on the client side user interface. The Servlet based system meets the requirement of expansibility, manageability, usability and security, and fits well for constituting Web database interfaces.
