Abstract:
The effect of transition metal oxide on thermal degradation process of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was studied.Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR),thermogravimetric analysis (TGA),X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) and cone calorimetry (CONE) techniques were employed to investigate the effects of Cu_2O on the flame thermal degradation process of PVC.It is found that the existence of Cu_2O can promote PVC to release HCl more easily, increase the amount of charring in PVC and inprove the flame retardancy of PVC.
