Abstract: Discusses a method making use of pattern recognition techniques to distinguish color camouflage from green vegetation background. The spectlal feature is taken as the basic characteristic for recognizing the target. Reflected spectra of many state-of-the art green camouflage materials as well as that of green vegetation, have been analyzedand their spectral pattern regularity found out. Optimum characterisics for recognition are then obtained. The adults of dassification found to be satisfactory.
