Abstract: Reinforced hot wire probes are described.The new probe is a cylincal rod on which a platinum wire is fixed. A new equation Which relates the probe output and flow velocity is presented. Experiments in the wind tunnel show that the new equation resultS in a better measurement than is given by King's law.The measurement error is decreased from 0.65m/s(by King's law) to 0.14m/s in the range of 0-20m/s.
