Abstract: Five kinds of food - stuffs dust explosions have been investigated . A video set was employed for recording the process of ignition and burning . By analyzing the records , the duration of ignition and flame speed at the beginning were obtained . Fine food- stuffs dust with particle sizes under 100# mesh can burn easily under suitable conditions .The energy of ignition equivalent to that of a match - head .Can easily cause rapid combustion , leading to an explosion .
