Abstract: The paper describes a new method used to measure the s tra ightness ofwork pieces on-line.The distinguishing feature of this method is that thestraightness can be measured on the machine tool used to produce the pieceinstead of on a separate standard bed.Meanwhile straightness of the bed ofthe machine tool itself can be measured at the same time.
