Abstract: The field angle of fish eye lenses can be made to reach or even surpass 180 degrees.It can be utilized in a panoramic cinema as either a photographic or a projection lens . its structrual development is introduced, the theory of image formation discussed, the formulae of both the ideal image height and the stop spherical aberration are given. Finally a practical example is shown.
