Abstract: The problem of time alignment in speech recognition is discussed in this paper and a new method based on the principle of MAP estimation is put forward. The relationschip of this method to DTW, the one most com-on in use for this purpoes, is described. The application of this method to speech recognition is discussed and some meaningfull couclusions are presented.
