Abstract:
To explore the effect of chopped carbon fiber (CF) monofilament on the dynamic mechanics and ignition characteristics of PTFE/Al reactive materials, some research works were carried out. Firstly, PTFE/Al and PTFE/Al/CF reaction materials were prepared, and the dynamic mechanical properties of the materials were tested, the mechanical properties and ignition parameters were obtained, and the impact compression process was recorded. The results show that the elastic modulus of PTFE/Al material can be greatly reduced by adding CF, causing the strain rate effect reduction of elastic modulus factor and failure strain factor. And then, based on above achievements, the impact compression process of reactive materials with different CF content and the recovery specimen, impact ignition rate (strain rate) threshold were analyzed. The results show that the PTFE/Al/CF specimens with low CF content present better dynamic compression resistance and energy absorption effect due to the solidifying and strengthening of fiber. So, with the increase of CF content, the ignition threshold and strain rate decrease, and reaction strength and reaction time increase for the PTFE/Al/CF reaction material. All the results can provide a reference for the design and impact application of carbon fiber filled modified PTFE/Al reaction materials.
