Abstract:
A control strategy of emergency brake anti-lock was investigated based on electronic parking brake (EPB) to avoid the dangerous working conditions of vehicle tail swing caused from the rear wheel lock, when the vehicle was stopped with a failed braking system. First of all, through the analysis of the composition and working principle of EPB, it was showed that the system based on EPB could realize the rear wheel anti-lock control function. And then, the characteristics of the EPB actuator components were determined through the analysis of the EPB actuator structure, parameters and the working characteristic, as well as bench test. Finally, an actuator control mode and emergency braking control software were developed according to its characteristics. At the same time, the control strategy was validated on the test vehicle equipped with EPB.
