Abstract:
The blockchain has a high adaptability to the application scenarios of global climate governance. Relying on four core technologies of distributed accounting, consensus mechanism, cryptography algorithm and smart contract, the technology promotes global climate governance towards the direction of co-governance and sharing through the empowerment path of "subject diversification-decision democratization-governance synergy-power balance". The embedding of blockchain in the field of global climate governance not only needs to be concerned about the application value of the technology as a democratic governance mechanism, but also needs to be consistent with the ethical requirements of the technology and the regulatory framework for the application of the technology. However, constrained by factors such as technological level, risk of alienation and application scenarios, this embedding process also faces challenges from technical, ethical and regulatory aspects, weakening the empowering quality and efficiency of blockchain and hindering the democratization process of global climate governance. In the future, empowering global climate governance with blockchain technology requires targeted measures such as technological innovation and revision, full process technical ethics regulations and the construction of a diversified and composite regulatory system to promote the deep integration of the two.
