Abstract: In recent years, with the development in space technology, the competition becomes more intense in commercial satellites fields. Commercial satellite diversity and profit-driven activities present new challenges to the protection of intellectual property on commercial satellite system. Whether it is commercial satellite technology development in China or International competition in the commercial satellite market, China's commercial satellite intellectual property protection still has many defects, such as low number of patent applications, lack of specific legal provisions, and obscurity of intellectual property ownership. Therefore, the mechanism of property rights ownership and sharing should be clarified in order to encouraging the development of innovative enthusiasm, increase the operational strength of intellectual property, so that patents can have proper values for the promotion of the development of China's commercial satellite industry.
